3. Who will be able to buy on the Ranch?

Anyone who wishes to have their horses in a quiet, tranquil ranch-setting. You could be a permanent owner, or an owner uitilizing the hacienda over weekends. The limited number of haciendas will however be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.

4. Will residents be able to keep their horses on the Ranch?

This is what it is all about. It is planned that residents will be able to keep their horses on the ranch and their horses will be stabled and able to graze in private paddocks. In addition, the residents will be able to use (as per Diamond X rules and regulations) the numerous facilities on the ranch. These include:

  • A large roundpen
  • A double-ring or training-ring
  • A roping pen
  • A Picadero
  • The large arena
  • A 40m x 20m dressage arena
  • The cutting and roping pens
  • The 4x4 horse trail, etc.

5. Why are we prepared to do this?

Almost without exception, everyone who has visited the ranch has expressed an interest in renting one of the houses on the ranch or wanting to live there. To date, we have refused to allow this. The planned development will now allow folks to actually buy a part of a well-established horse ranch with an outstanding local and international reputation.

6. How will the Bed-and-Breakfast facility work?

It will allow for visitors who wish to visit the ranch and spend a night or two in the country to do exactly this. The current bunkhouse area will obviously be expanded to allow for such a facility. This will include the building of a restaurant, a tea garden, additional rooms and so forth.

7. Stabling?

Yes, stables will be built to accommodate the residents’ horses. Obviously, such stabling will be in-line with The Diamond X Ranch stabling methods and will be charged on a monthly-basis. Outside horses - ie horses not belonging to the residents - may be considered for stabling but residents will have first option for stabling.

8. What about the schooling of residents’ horses?

The School’s personnel will be available to assist residents with the schooling of their horses. Obviously such schooling will be discussed with the owner and the schooling costs determined.

9. Can horses be half-baited?

Yes, a limited number of the School’s horses will be made available to interested parties on a half-bait option.

10. Will residents be able to go on their own trail rides?

Yes. Those students who have visited the school know that there is a lot of land to ride. The School will continue to offer planned trail-and-picnic rides on scheduled dates but residents will be allowed to ride whenever they so wish. If residents wish to use the School’s facilities, such arrangements need to be made beforehand to ensure that such use does not clash with a clinic, lesson or other work at the School.

11. What must I do to secure a hacienda on the ranch?

Please send me an email expressing your interest.
